Diana Iketani Iorlano - Founder/Managing Attorney

Diana is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/U.S. (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).


Diana has over 21 years of experience as a business lawyer and strategist who is focused on client solutions for complex commercial litigation, regulatory and compliance issues, and federal and state administrative proceedings.  She represents clients of all sizes in entertainment, media, technology, financial services, real estate, insurance, retail, healthcare and other industries.  Diana’s practice focuses on privacy and data security, entertainment litigation, general business litigation, and government and regulatory actions. She also provides outside general counsel services, including contract review and negotiation.  She is actively involved in all phases of case management, from intake to resolution.  


Prior to founding ILC, Diana worked at a large national law firm, and began her legal career at two regional firms in Los Angeles.  She graduated high school at age 16, graduated college at age 20, took a year off to dance professionally, then obtained her law degree at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law by the ripe old age of 24.  In 2015, Diana was named the "Woman of the Year" by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Greater Los Angeles. 


Diana previously served as a volunteer temporary judge for the Los Angeles Superior Court from 2004 to 2010.


She is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Central, Southern, Eastern and Northern District Courts of California.


Diana is an avid supporter of the performing arts, a rescue dog mom, and a mother and wife.

  • Managed breach and data incident response, including liaising with law enforcement and regulatory entities, and assisting before and during litigation, regulatory inquiry, and government enforcement. 
  • Analyzed and evaluated potential data breach/incursions for clients, working in cooperation with forensics and information technology teams.

  • Guided clients on security incident investigation, containment, and mitigation.
  • Advised technology, entertainment and hospitality companies regarding ongoing compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CaCPA).

  • Prosecuted and defended claims on behalf of producer and distributor of entertainment titles in copyright infringement matters.
  • Managed two-year investigation of financial services client by state regulatory agency 
  • First chair in Department of Health and Human Services administrative hearing relating to Medicare billing privileges.
  • First chair in California OAH administrative hearing defending speech therapy service provider in audit by Department of Developmental Services.
  • Defended financial advisor in arbitration of breach of fiduciary duty and negligence claims related to sales of securities and other investments.
  • Served on of team of attorneys as Special Counsel to a Select Committee of Inquiry of the Connecticut General Assembly considering whether to recommend the impeachment of former Governor John Rowland.
  • Obtained dismissal of major online dating service from negligence action alleging liability for user interaction.
  • Litigated music royalty action for prolific producer and composer of music from Motown and disco eras.
  • Resolved royalty action on behalf of distributor of nature sound CDs after jury trial in federal court.
  • Obtained dismissal on behalf of manufacturer and distributor of CDs, along with 11 retail stores who sold product, in action alleging violations of California's unfair competition statute.
  • Successfully defended FOIA request by media for government records of online ticketing company's arena agreements.
  • Obtained speedy resolution on behalf of distributor of compilation CDs of action for alleged invasion of privacy under Ohio statute for use of stock photography on CD packaging.
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of national retailer on issue of whether retailer storefronts constitute public forums for alleged free speech activities.
  • Defended proceeding before California Labor Commissioner alleging violations by music producer of the Talent Agencies Act.
  • Prepared permanent guardianship and special juvenile immigrant status (SIJS) applications in pro bono matters for Guatemalan and Mexican juveniles abandoned by parents.
  • Prepared pro bono conservatorship applications for developmentally disabled young adults.
